Ruby Frances Bridal: Wedding Dress Shopping During COVID-19

We have been busy working in the background on shop policies and procedures to make our environment as safe as possible for all brides, customers and staff. In line with government guidelines our shop policies and procedures are outlined below:

  1. STAFF TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS – owners Katie and Sophie are fully informed of the legislation and requirements in order to operate as safely as possible for our staff and customers.

  2. RIGOROUS CLEANING ROUTINES – we will be deep cleaning, spraying and sanitizing the shop before we open, between appointments and every evening. We will also be sterilizing each dress after it has been tried on after an appointment.

  3. LIMITED AND PRIVATE APPOINTMENT SLOTS – we are running strictly by appointment only and have a locked door policy to manage visitors and keep you safer in store. We will also be opening with limited appointment slots to leave plenty of time in between appointments for cleaning.

  4. SOCIAL DISTANCING – we are keeping a 1m+ social distance wherever possible. To aid with this we have a small staffing team of only 2 to reduce interactions.

  5. ANTIBACTERIAL PROVIDED – we will have 3 sanitization areas set up around the shop with antibacterial and extra PPE. Staff and customers must use antibacterial at the beginning and end of appointments, and are encouraged to do it throughout also.

  6. FACEMASKS TO BE WORN AT ALL TIMES – as social distancing is not always possible at a bridal appointment and due to current government guidelines, facemasks are compulsory for all staff and customers for the duration of the appointment. Please bring your own, we will be unable to conduct your appointment if you do not wear a facemask. We also have disposable gloves which you can wear if you wish.

  7. 3 GUESTS ALLOWED PER BRIDE – we ask that all brides bring a maximum of 3 guests (who can be from multiple households) to comply with government guidelines. However if you wanted to involve more people, you can bring the rest of your bride tribe virtually via facetime or zoom; we have complimentary Wi-Fi for this.

  8. 1 GUEST FOR DRESS FITTINGS - to keep our seamstresses as safe as possible we ask that our brides attend their fittings either solo or with 1 VIP guest. As we have more staff in the shop for fittings we can only accommodate a maximum of 1 extra guest.

  9. HEALTH CHECKS – we ask all customers to rearrange or cancel an appointment if they or their VIP guest feel unwell, and we ask staff to do the same. We will not be able to conduct the appointment if anyone has any COVID symptoms.

  10. ONLY SALES CONSULTANTS TO HANDLE ALL STOCK WHERE POSSIBLE – we ask that only sales consultants handle all stock dresses and accessories. 

  11. REMOVAL OF UNNECESSARY HIGH TOUCH ITEMS – we will be removing all non-essential high touch items such as magazines and some decorative items.

  12. WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT ABLE TO SERVE REFRESHMENTS – to avoid any cross contamination we are unfortunately not able to serve refreshments at this time. We please ask that you bring your own if you feel you would like a drink during the appointment. However, we will still be serving wrapped sweet treats as usual.

This is an ever changing situation, so we will update our procedures and protocols accordingly as and when we will need to. Our main priority is, and always has been, to give brides a memorable, unique and most importantly enjoyable experience in store with us, so we promise to make it as special as possible for you despite all the changes we are currently implementing.
